About
Dr Paul Avery is EVP, AI Adoption at Supreme Group, where he helps teams and clients across healthcare and the life sciences turn AI from an experiment into everyday work.
He started out in the lab. After a first-class degree in genetics at Cardiff University, where he won the award for the highest degree mark, he completed a PhD in molecular biology at the University of Cambridge, studying gene regulation in fruit fly development. Before that, he researched the pathology of arthritis at the University of Nottingham.
In 2010 he swapped the bench for the page as a science writer, then led life science accounts at Alto Marketing and Chempetitive Group. In 2014 he co-founded BioStrata, a specialist life science marketing agency, and led it as CEO for ten years, until it was acquired by Supreme Group in 2024.
Today Paul hosts The Supreme Pod, speaks and writes about AI and answer engine optimisation in life science marketing, and builds things for the fun of it.
